World of Warcraft: Dragonflight has just been officially revealed. A lot of content and quality of life updates have been announced, and one of the new features they talked about was a new race. Whilst we are spoilt for choice with races already, the Dracthyr Class in WoW Dragonflight made a lot of sense to add into the game.
They make a lot of sense due to the other content that was announced during the Dragonflight stream, such as the new levelling zone, the new continent known as the Dragon Isles, and also the new class. There is a lot to unpack.
If you're interested in reading about what else was announced, check out our World of Warcraft 10.0 hub which explains everything that was announced, including the deep dive that went over the quality of life changes to World of Warcraft too. As well, check out our Evoker class guide to find out more about what it means for your Dracthyr to be an Evoker.
Who Are The Dracthyr in World of Warcraft Dragonflight?
The Dracthyr are the new half Draconic half Humanoid race added to World of Warcraft, coming in the new expansion. They can be customised in both their Draconic form and their Humanoid form to your liking. They can also turn into humans at will.
What's special about the Dracthyr is that they only have access to the one class and one class only: the Evoker class. Evokers can only be Dracthyr, and Dracthyr can only be Evoker.
Dracthyr will have access to a different form of dragonriding. Due to the fact they have wings and they are technically dragons, they can fly. It isn't as powerful as the dragonriding players will eventually unlock at max level, but it will still be useful.
Dracthyr will be a mail-only race. When in visage form, you'll have access to a full transmogrification. However, when you're in Dracthyr form you'll only have access to shoulders, belts, and tabards.
What Classes Do They Have Access To?
Dracthyr only has access to one class and one class only. This is the new class coming to World of Warcraft: Dragonflight: the Evoker class. This is the first ranged class they are adding to the game post-release. Only Dracthyr can be Evoker.
