Blizzard Preview The Upcoming Looking For Group Tool

One of the major quality of life features introduced in the Burning Crusade was the Looking for Group tool, which would help players find groups for raids and dungeons without spending hours spamming chat channels.

This feature did not launch with the release of Burning Crusade Classic, as Blizzard was redesigning it to provide a better experience in 2021.

The Looking for Group tool is not to be confused with the group finder which was added in Wrath of the Lich King which would match players with each other.

This new LFG tool will arrive this week with the Overlord of Outlands patch 2.5.2.

Blizzard Preview The Upcoming Looking For Group Tool

"This time the Looking for Group tab allows both solo players and parties to list themselves for up to three activities of their choosing, unlike the original tool that was only usable by solo players. You can select activities like Dungeons, Raids, Zones (for group questing), Heroic Dungeons, Battlegrounds, and Arena." Blizzard says.

Below is the LFG version that was tested on the Burning Crusade Classic PTR over the last 6 weeks.

With this updated tool players will be able to find more consistent groups and not rely on using third-party add-ons for this feature.

The Looking for Group tool is one of the many new features coming in phase 2, with Guild banks coming in the same patch.

These new features will arrive tomorrow with the weekly maintenance, and two weeks after that the two new raids and daily quest hubs will open for players to begin completing.
