Is Wolverine Coming To PS4, Xbox Or PC?


Wolverine made its formal debut last night at the PlayStation Showcase, which offered. Alongside Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Sony announced they're looking to build their own original universe with both of these games at the core.

With Insomniac's previous superhero games - Marvel's Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales - exclusive to PlayStation platforms, you might be wondering: Is there any chance Wolverine will be different? Will it make it to PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S or PC? Here's what we know:

Is Wolverine Coming To PS4?

Ultimately, that answer is no. As stated in a below tweet, Insomniac's confirmed this'll be exclusive to PS5, ruling out a PS4 release. We don't have a release date yet for Wolverine but it seems that beyond games they've already announced - like God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7 - they're winding back support for new PS4 releases.

Is Wolverine Coming To Xbox?

No. Sony bought out Insomniac Games back in 2019 and incorporated them into PlayStation Studios, meaning any future titles are all-but-guaranteed to skip Microsoft's consoles. As such, don't expect to see Wolverine on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S.

Is Wolverine Coming To PC?

At this time, Insomniac's only confirmed Wolverine coming to PS5. However, it's worth noting that Sony's recently made a stronger push towards PC gaming, having acquired PC porting studio Nixxes Software.

So far, we've seen them bring Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, Predator: Hunting Grounds and the upcoming Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection to PC, so while it's currently unconfirmed, Spider-Man 2 could eventually make the jump. Should that happen, we'll keep you informed.
