Warframe Frost Build Guide - How to Obtain, Craft, and Best Builds For Combat

The cold warrior Frost is a highly versatile warframe, with abilities that help to obliterate everything in your path while also having access to the highly defensive resource that is the Snow Globe. You can take different approaches to play this warframe as you see fit, either as an offensive or defensive asset for your party.

His Prime version also displays higher shield capacity, as well as an additional polarity. However, right now Frost Prime is unobtainable until the Vault brings him back, so you may need to roam around the Trade Chat in case you want him.

Frost Overview and Best Weapon Options

Being capable of taking both offensive and defensive stances, Frost can be built by focusing on any of those strategies or trying to balance them as best as he can. As you will read below, he certainly can do both more than fine.

Any enemy that strikes Frost with a melee attack has a 10% chance to be temporarily frozen for 20 seconds on impact. Freezing chance and duration are not affected by mods.

Frost isn’t a naturally fast or sturdy warframe, and to compensate for that we will equip him with fast and effective weapons. Glaxion, Spira, and Ninkondi will serve that purpose, and of course, if you can afford the Prime or Vandal versions, the better. Use as many Forma on them as you see fit to achieve the desired build, and you'll be good to go!

Mod List
Aura Mod - Stand United
Exilus Mod - Power Drift

  • Flow
  • Intensify
  • Streamline
  • Blind Rage
  • Vitality
  • Armored Agility
  • Steel Fiber
  • Chilling Globe

Easy to build and only needing 1-2 Forma, this setup is a versatile one, both for defense and offense. The idea is simple, you need to spam the Snow Globe whenever you need to defend a point or stand your ground in any situation and use Avalanche to wreak havoc against groups of enemies or specific foes that need their armor stripped down. For that to work, you need to invest in Strength and Armor, since they scale with those two values.

With the Augment Mod, the Snow Globe will also slow the enemies down, with a chance of freezing them solid, which will give you more room to breathe in the later, more difficult missions. In case everything fails and you see yourself in trouble, Avalanche will solve that, both by wearing down the occasional miniboss’ armor or straight up annihilating groups of normal enemies.
