Confusion Emerges Regarding Panzer Dragoon: Voyage Record, Following False Reports of CEO’s Death


There's significant confusion surrounding Panzer Dragoon's upcoming VR edition, Voyage Record. Earlier today, an update emerged from the game's official Twitter account, claiming it'd been cancelled following the death of Wildman Inc's CEO, Haruto Watanabe. However, that's since been proven false.

While the tweet has since been deleted - as confirmed by Gematsu - that initially told followers:

Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record has been cancelled due to the cancellation of the contract by Sega and the death of the producer, Haruto Watanabe, CEO of Wildman Inc. Thank you for your support.

Confusion Emerges Regarding Panzer Dragoon: Voyage Record, Following False Reports of CEO’s Death

At this time, neither SEGA or Wildman Inc haven't formally commented on the matter. Thankfully, several friends of Watanabe have independently confirmed he's still alive, and though its unclear why these tweets appeared, it sounds like he'll be making a statement soon.

Originally announced in March last year, we've not seen much about Voyage Record so far. Described as a "VR dramatic shooter", it'll be comprised of recreated levels from the three Sega Saturn entries: Panzer Dragoon, Panzer Dragoon Zwei and "Panzer Dragoon Saga.
