You may have seen that last night, Facebook premiered their first ever Oculus Gaming Showcase. Offering extended footage of Resident Evil 4 VR, new DLC for The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, and details of a new freestyle mode in The Climb 2, they also gave us a first look at Giles Goddard's newest game, Carve Snowboarding.

Developed through Chuhai Labs, Goddard notably worked on Nintendo's own snowboarding game back in 1998, 1080° Snowboarding. Going freelance in 2002, he wasn't involved with the GameCube sequel 1080° Avalanche, but now, he's set to revive this dormant franchise's spirit through Virtual Reality.

From 1080° Snowboarding's Developer, Carve Snowboarding Is Coming To Oculus Quest

Though Goddard has previously discussed this project, yesterday's presentation marks our first official look at Carve Snowboarding with this 1 minute trailer. Presently, it's only been confirmed for Oculus Quest, and it remains unclear whether a PC version is planned, but Facebook has promised they'll have "more details to share in the coming months".

Right now, we've not got a release window, but the thought of a spiritual successor to a beloved N64 game is certainly promising. It's got competition against recent sports games like Terje Haakonsen's Powder VR, but either way, we'll be bringing you more information about Carve Snowboarding soon.
