It has been announced that Virtua Fighter 5 will get a remaster. Moreover, the game is free on PlayStation Plus after being rumored for some time as part of the lineup. The game hasn't been updated in many years, so this is excellent news for fans and members of PlayStation Plus.

Sega AM2 and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have ported the entire game over to the Dragon Engine, which is the same one that powers Yakuza 6, Yakuza: Like A Dragon, and probably will also be used in Lost Judgment which will be released in September. Aside from the visual update, this engine swap includes updated stage designs, better lighting, better shaders, and improved textures on the PS4 for PlayStation Plus members.

So let's get to this Virtua Fighter 5 trailer comparison that will be free for PlayStation Plus

Sega will also include a new esports feature in Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown. There will also be the ability for spectators to watch real-time round-robin tournaments featuring 16 players each. A renewed emphasis on esports coincides with Sega's 60th anniversary.

When it launches on June 1, the game will be exclusive to the PS4. However, you can get the game free as soon as it is released if you are a PlayStation Plus member.
