Riot Games recently released a new agent in Valorant with the Episode 3 Act 1 update. KAY/O joined the team as an android initiator with Suppression abilities.
One can be forgiven for thinking that the next Agent will come out after a while, as recent leaks point to a new character coming soon.
Previously, the community got to see some of the finest fan-concept agents in artstation, but this one comes directly from the game files.
Here's everything you need to know about Agent 18, who might arrive in-game sooner than we think!
According to popular Valorant influencer @ValorLeaks, a new codename was discovered in the game files. This new Agent is codenamed "Sprinter".
Previously, leaks suggested that another new Agent codenamed Deadeye would join the game in Episode 3 Act 2. With this new codename, fans can now look forward to two potential agents coming to Valorant.
Before KAY/O was released, a similar codename was discovered, attached to our beloved android Initiator. This proves that Riot Games is teasing a new agent coming to the game, who might become Valorant's first Barry Allen.
Jett and Yoru are perhaps the fastest agents in Valorant, in terms of using abilities to move from one spot to another. However, this might change if the new Agent is a speedster.
Yoru was introduced in Episode 2 Act 1, and Astra in Episode 2 Act 2. No new agents were introduced in Episode 2 Act 3, which leads to the question, when is this new agent coming?
There is a massive possibility that at least one of the two new agents might be added at the start of Episode 3 Act 2. Scheduled to begin on August 24th, 2021, the next Act might also bring a new map into the mix.
Several community experts, Youtubers and influencers speculated that Episode 3 Act 2 will feature two new agents, which will compensate for Episode 2 Act 3.
It is plausible to assume that Deadeye will be the next Agent coming to Valorant, and Sprinter would follow in Episode 3 Act 3.
Two new agents and a new map may sound absurd at this point, but players will have to wait until Riot Games makes an official announcement.
Note: We will keep updating this section when more information is revealed.
As for the abilities, there is not much to go on except the codenames. While Deadeye sounds like an agent with surveillance abilities, Sprinter definitely reminds us of Flash from the DC Universe.
Theoretically, the "Sprinter" Agent 18 might have abilities that capitalize on closing down spaces. This will essentially change how teams rush on-site during the start of a round, or while playing retake.
