Creative Assembly and Feral Interactive has announced that Total War: Warhammer 3 has been delayed, pushing it back from the previous 2021 release into "early 2022."

Releasing a statement via Twitter, Rob Bartholomew (Chief Product Officer) confirmed:

With nearly a decade of development on the Total War: WARHAMMER trilogy behind us, it feels surreal to see its culminating chapter so close to release. While it's tempting to rush to the finish line as it comes into view, we have made the decision to give it a little more time by moving the launch of Total War: WARHAMMER III from 2021 into early 2022.

Stating how they "know this is disappointing" to fans, they confirm that there'll be "plenty of new information for you in the meantime." As part of the wider statement, Bartholomew also confirmed that "we don't consider this release the end of our trilogy," signalling further support to come.

However, it's not all bad news. Following on from Monday's announcement, they also unveiled a trailer yesterday revealing Grand Cathy, described as "An ancient empire lies far beyond the Dark Lands and the snowfields of Kislev... Ruled by the Celestial Dragon Emperor and the Moon Empress." You can see that in action above.
