Titanfall 2 Player Count Surges Ahead of Apex Legends Season 9 Launch


Titanfall 2 may not have gotten the love it deserved back at launch, but the game's latest community day saw a huge influx of players.

May 1st was the day the game's community rallied to increase the player count, and they logged in in droves – the game hit around 60,000 concurrent players on all platforms.

The 32,000 players on PC were over double the previous record, while the Xbox and PlayStation versions hit 18,000 and 10,000 respectively, according to industry figure @Okami13_.

Not bad for a game that launched in 2016, and Respawn Entertainment did their part, too – they made the game free-to-play on PC for the weekend.

It's a big week for the Titanfall franchise. Not only did it see a huge influx of players, but it also just got an update on Xbox Series X to allow 120 FPS on the console.

Then there's the small matter of Apex Legends' new season, Legacy, which adds more Titanfall lore and characters to the popular battle royale shooter and lands later today. In fact, the season's announcement already saw Titanfall 2 gain more players.
