The Ascent: How to Spend Basic Components

The Ascent throws you into a dangerous Cyberpunk world where you'll need to constantly upgrade your weapons and gear in order to survive. To do so you'll need Basic Components, which are pink icon pickups that can be found around the map. Once you've collected a few, you'll want to know where to spend them. Here's what to do with Basic Components.

To spend Basic Components you will need to head to a Gunsmith. These can be found in multiple areas, indicated by a blue mallet icon. There's one in Cluster 13, so head there and speak to them. You can now spend Basic Components to upgrade weapons. You'll want to do this with your primary and secondary weapons as often as you can. Check out the vendor you'll need to find in the screenshot below:

How to Get Basic Components

Basic Component pickups are littered all over the map, so you'll need to look for pink glowing items. These are often shown on the map as a white loot box, though it's only a small chance that each will indeed be the Basic Component. Keep exploring and opening up chests and you should have a steady supply coming in.
