Should I wait for the iPhone 14? If you're an Apple fan and are looking to upgrade, you've likely asked yourself this exact question.
But, is their upcoming flagship phone worth waiting for? Here's what we think.
How Long Could The Wait For The iPhone 14 Be?
The iPhone 14 release date has not yet been officially announced, however, from looking at previous years, we can get a rough estimate for when it may arrive.
The iPhone 13 was released on 24 September 2021, the iPhone 12 arrived on 23 October 2020 and the iPhone 11 was released on 20 September 2019.
We can therefore assume that it is likely we will see the iPhone 14 released in either September or October 2022.
With the iPhone 14 release date likely being several months away, details of the upcoming phone are a little thin on the ground.
We currently have no official word on internals we can expect or any information on the pricing of the iPhone 14.
It looks like you could be waiting a while for the release of the new phone, which begs the question as to whether the iPhone 13, is worth investing in now?
Is The iPhone 13 Worth Buying Now?
The iPhone 13 was released back in September 2021, meaning it is still relatively new.
But with the iPhone 14 on the horizon, is Apple's current flagship phone worth buying now?
The iPhone 13 has a starting price of £779 / $829 with the most premium configuration costing around £1,079 / $1,129.
So, if you're looking for something more affordable it is likely that the upcoming iPhone SE 3 could be a cheaper option.
But with the premium price tag of the iPhone 13, are you getting a lot for your money?
The iPhone 13 is equipped with Apple's latest A15 Bionic chipset which should give you some serious power and mean this phone operates very quickly.
You're also getting Apple's GPU and 4GB of RAM which should allow you to run mobile games smoothly.
When it comes to the display, the iPhone 13 features a 6.1-inch OLED screen, with a resolution of 1170 x 2532 pixels and up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness.
This means that not only should the screen look clear and sharp, but also offer excellent contrast and be clearly visible even in well-lit environments.
For the camera, this phone is equipped with 12MP wide and 12MP ultrawide main lenses, as well as a 12MP front-facing camera.
This should allow you to take high-quality photos and even boasts filming in up to 4K at 60fps.
The iPhone 13 is also available with three storage options, including 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.
And when it comes to the battery, there is a 3,240mAh rechargeable power bank, which is a significant upgrade from the previous iPhone 12.
Plus, the iPhone 13 also comes with MagSafe technology, allowing for wireless charging.
Should I Wait For iPhone 14?
Ultimately, whether or not you should wait for the iPhone 14 is entirely up to your individual preferences.
The iPhone 14 is likely heading our way later this year, however, at the current time, we have very little information about the upcoming model.
It is likely to include a number of upgrades such as a better camera, a more powerful chipset and an improved display.
But, we'll have to wait until nearer the time to find out just how significant these upgrades will be.
For those looking to upgrade right away, we'd say that at the current time, the iPhone 13 could still be a fantastic option.
Although, if you do decide to wait for the iPhone 14, we wouldn't blame you either as it is likely to be one of Apple's best iPhones yet.
The iPhone 13 offers some excellent upgrades from the previous iPhone 12 model, including a larger battery, a faster chipset and greater storage options.
And of course, with the Galaxy S22 heading our way this month, it could be worth seeing if Samsung's latest flagship phone is worth investing in.
