CES 2022 showcased some fantastic new monitors slated for release, including world-firsts in the form of new QD-OLED displays, but it's the Samsung Odyssey Ark that may have stolen the show with one of their most impressive monitors to date.

The massive 55" curved screen takes gaming and productivity to a whole new level, and we've got everything you need to know about when you can get your hands on it, plus why it's so impressive.

Samsung Odyssey Ark Release Date

As of yet, we're yet to get a concrete release date, but it's said to be coming this year.

As for the month, we'd imagine it may fall a little later in the year to capture the higher spending period, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Hopefully, Samsung will surprise us sooner rather than later.

We do know what to expect though, which may make waiting for it just that little bit harder...

Samsung Odyssey Ark Specs

So if you thought this massive display was all show, think again. The monitor packs an impressive resume making it great for gaming.

While it doesn't include QD-OLED like the Samsung Odyssey G8QNB, it is an impressive quantum mini-LED, 4K display coming in at a whopping 55 inches, with a 1000R curve.

Under the hood, you're getting a 1ms response time and a 165hz refresh rate. Response times tend to be a little longer with larger displays and more pixels, so we're interested to see how this fairs when we can get hands-on with it.

More good news for gamers comes with the fact it's a 16:9 ratio, not 21:9 as is the case with many of the best ultrawide monitors.

That's a massive bonus, especially as PS5 does not support ultrawide officially, and neither does Xbox Series X.

Obviously, the real draw here is the futuristic, over the top design which can be turned vertically too.

Many people working in IT or coding use a vertical setup for monitors, but we'd imagine that this would simulate looking up a sheer cliff face rather than providing any helpful function.

That being said, the verticality of the monitor is impressive and we think it's more of a gamer-orientated feature that allows you to have various windows/ apps open and in view.

Practical or not, you can't deny that it looks awesome, and we're predicting it'll be very popular for those willing to splash the cash...

Samsung Odyssey Ark Price

That leads us nicely onto the other mystery of the Samsung Odyssey Ark, the price.

At the moment we don't have much information on how much the Samsung Odyssey will cost, however, we're expecting this to tip the scales at over $1700 easily.
