With all the hype behind HDMI 2.1 monitors, you'd be forgiven if your sights were firmly fixed on every new release that can handle the coveted 4K at 120fps, but there are still loads of incoming displays that pack a real punch, especially for those looking for lightning-fast refresh rates.
Enter the new HP Omen 27-C which is now available and looks to be a real winner.
Here's a closer look at this ominous threat to our wallets.
HP Omen 27c Gaming Monitor

Opinion: Is The HP Omen 27c Worth It?
The HP Omen 27c comes in at around $529.99, which is quite reasonable for a higher-end monitor, and especially one that can top out at 240fps with a DP connection.
Let's not forget either that this is 27 inches and curved, so you're paying a little extra for the sheer size and the engineering involved.
That being said, when it comes to the specs, there are a few things that stand out in a good way.
Design-speaking, it's probably one of the best monitors we've laid eyes on, and it goes further than just good looks - there's some added functionality in the mix too.
The small base of the monitor is similar to a move BenQ made with their ever-popular Mobiuz range and allows for you to hold onto some of the prime desk real-estate with your setup.
It also features a three-sided micro-edge design, which basically means that you can link these together pretty much seamlessly for the ultimate super-wide monitor setup.
There's even a USB-C port, which is slowly but surely becoming a bit of a must-have in the monitor scene.
For gaming, we'd have to see it in action, but it looks like it ticks all the right boxes. Sure it's not HDMI 2.1 and the jury's out as to whether PS5 will ever support 1440p, but if you pair this with the right gaming PC or Xbox Series X, we think it could be a great addition to any of the fast-paced titles playable today.
