The Street Fighter 5 Champions Edition will be adding Rose and Oro as part of the games next big updates. But eventually, they'll be adding Akira Kazama, a fighter Rival Schools fans might recognise.
Capcom confirmed during their Spring update live stream that Akira is now in development, so it's as good a time to brush up on everything you need to know about the character.

Capcom has at long last announced a date for when they'll reveal all about the Street Fighter Summer 2021 Update.
It all kicks off on August 3, with details about Oro, Akira "and more!".
We can't wait to see what they have planned.

What a bust, no info about Oro or Akira!
June 14, 2021 [9am BST] - We're less than 24 hours away from the start of Capcom's live E3 Showcase.
The event itself gets underway at 14:30 Pacific Time (PT) which for those in the UK means a rather late watch at 10.30pm BST.
It's all available to watch via E3's official channels, so that means you can tune in with either Twitch, YouTube, Facebook or Twitter channels.
Hopefully, Street Fighter 5 will have something to show us during the event. It's more likely to be on the Summer Update, but we could see something on Akira too.
June 11 - Capcom are taking part in E3 2021 but it's not clear exactly what they'll have to reveal. There are two important dates for your diary.
The first date is June 10. This is when the Summer Games Fest Kickoff Live event takes place.
The show begins at 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm BST / 8pm CEST and will include several developers and publishers, including Capcom.
Alternatively, Capcom also has another E3 showcase planned for June 14 at 22:30pm BST.
As we mentioned, it's not clear where Street Fighter will fit in, or if Oro will be mentioned, as it could be that the main show is reserved for just The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, Monster Hunter Stories 2, Monster Hunter Rise or Resident Evil Village.
Only time will tell, so stay tuned for more details.
Akira Release Date
Akira likely isn't coming to the game until much later in the year, likely as part of a Winter update.
Keep in mind, the game still has to launch Rose and then Oro.
Oro won't be coming to the game until the Summer update, which could be anywhere between Monday, 21 June and ends Wednesday, 22 September.
Needless to say, it could be quite some time before we see Akira come to the game.

Akira Moveset
The only thing we know so far about Akira's moveset is what we've seen in the teaser trailer (above).
The devs did share a few comments on the game's blog:
As you can see, Akira is going to be retaining some of her Rival Schools style in SFV such as her ability to execute flashy air combos!In addition, her older brother Daigo makes an appearance as one of her V-Triggers, bringing back the vibe of that classic Rival Schools gameplay.
The dev team will be revealing more info about Rival Schools veteran Akira "in the near future" but we imagine that it could still be a few months.
