Stardew Valley Creator Says New Reveals Will Likely Be "Spur-Of-The-Moment" Decisions


Stardew Valley's been out for over 5 years now, but creator Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone is still actively updating it. While we've not seen a big update since December 2020's Version 1.5, we're getting the odd updates still, but we've known for sometime that Barone's working on a new project too.

However, just when we'll learn more could be decided on a whim. In a recent tweet, Barone replied to a fan asking what's next, confirming:

I am working on some new stuff, and I might share something in the somewhat near future," Barone said, "but it will probably just be a spur-of-the-moment decision to announce anything.

Though he didn't offer any details, he did confirm elsewhere his next project won't have a magic school setting, and Barone previously advised last February that he's "not setting out to make the next indie smash hit".

What's clear is that Barone wants to solidify his new project's core concept before offering any reveals, saying that he's a "pretty cautious person when it comes to this sort of thing." We'll be waiting a little while to learn more details, but we'll keep you informed when that happens.
