A Silo is one of the many useful farm buildings that you can acquire in Stardew Valley. It's essentially a giant storage container for Hay and can be quite useful in the long run. In terms of money, it's quite cheap but it does require a few different materials. We're going to show you how to build a Silo and we explain what you can store in it.

How To Build a Silo
To build a Silo, you will need to collect the following materials:
- 100G
- 100 Stone
- 10 Clay
- 5 Copper Bar
When you have these materials, you need to go to see Robin at her shop. The Carpenter's shop can be found in the North East section of Pelican Town. Walk into the building and up to the till if Robin is behind it. Interact with the till and select the "Construct Farm Buildings" option. This should bring up one of the farm buildings. To find the Silo, click on the arrows below the image of the building until you come across the one for the Silo.
Once you have found the right one, click on the little hammer icon under the description to purchase it. After purchasing it, it will take 2 days to build (this starts the day after the purchase)
What Can You Store in a Silo?
Once the Silo is built, you can use it to store Hay in to ensure you have enough food for your animals. This will be especially useful during the Winter season because there will be little natural food for you to feed to them. You can get Hay a number of ways:
- Cut Grass with a Sythe and put the cuttings into the Silo
- Buy Hay from Marnie and store it in the Silo
- Harvest Wheat and put it in the Silo
All of these things can be used as food for your farm animals.
