New Splinter Cell Game Rumoured To Be In Production


Splinter Cell is one of Ubisoft's most beloved franchises, and fans have clamoured for another entry ever since Blacklist in 2013. A VR entry is coming but elsewhere, this request might be getting fulfilled.

Reported by VGC through Tom Henderson, Ubisoft has reportedly greenlit a mainline game in the Splinter Cell franchise. Though details remain scarce, two sources close to the French company state that the game's in early development.

New Splinter Cell Game Rumoured To Be In Production

It's been claimed that the series' native developer, Ubisoft Montreal isn't working on the project. Rather, that's been outsourced to another Ubisoft studio unknown at this time. With the project being in early production, an official announcement is speculated to emerge sometime next year.

With an 8 year gap since Sam Fisher's last big outing, the tactical spy has made several appearances in Ghost Recon Wildlands, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and Rainbow Six Siege. The agent continued his cameo tour through the mobile game, Tom Clancy's Elite Squad, and will even drive his own upcoming Netflix show.

While Splinter Cell's return isn't official, we exclaimed why Sam Fisher needs to return now more than ever.
