Sonic Colors: Ultimate Announced During Sonic Central Live Stream and Will Release Later This Year

Sonic Central is now over and the 12-minute long stream was packed full of content with announcements of new games and partnerships, with one of the big reveal being Sonic Colors: Ultimate, a rework of the 2010 title.

Join Sonic on an intergalactic journey, fully remastered for a new generation -- with a few new features, too!

The remaster of the original Sonic Colors game is being done by Blind Squirrel Entertainment, who recently helped worked on titles such as the Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and Borderlands 3 Game of the Year Enhanced Edition.

The remaster will see a few new updates added to the game. You can watch the reveal trailer here:

The trailer is definitely "colorful", showcasing Sonic running around on an adventure to stop Dr.Eggman from enslaving an alien race and taking over the world, with a fun theme playing in the background.

The 2010 Wii game brought in Whisps which allowed players to unlock new power-ups, and adventure to new areas, and they will be returning in Ultimate as well.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate will release on September 7, 2021, and will release on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC through the Epic Games Store.
