Steve Aoki, Sega Team Up to Celebrate Sonic The Hedgehog's 30th Anniversary


To celebrate Sonic the Hedgehog's 30th anniversary, Sega's revealed they'll be partnering with world-renowned DJ, EDM artist, and producer Steve Aoki. He'll be hosting a 60-minute set featuring his original songs, alongside tracks from the wider Sonic series.

Announced through a behind-the-scenes video, that was posted on the official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel. All included songs will be Aoki's remixes, performed across various digital environments including some of Sonic's most iconic locations, like the Green Hill Zone.

Steve Aoki, Sega Team Up to Celebrate Sonic The Hedgehog's 30th Anniversary

Aoki expressed his delight to be working with Sega, praising the Sonic franchise. A part of his statement reads as:

“The best Sonic game is definitely the OG Sonic the Hedgehog. That’s the game that started it all for me. That’s the game I was most obsessed with, and, uh, I just remember putting it in the Genesis console and just rocking out."

Mentioning that his favourite Sonic the Hedgehog son h is Stardust Speedway, which he's remixed for this event, Aoki describes it as the song that brings him back to when he "was a kid playing the game.” This concert takes place this November 30th at 3pm ET / 8pm GMT.
