Updated: Sonic And Tails Officially Confirmed For Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania

Having accidentally leaked it through their official website back in June, SEGA's now officially confirmed that Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower are joining Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania's lineup. They're the latest guest characters to join the line-up, following Jet Set Radio's Beat, and won't cost anything to unlock. You can see them in action below:

SEGA's not shy about putting Sonic into other games. Between recent examples like Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, Two Point Hospital, Lost Judgment and the official Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 video game, we may have evidence that he's now appearing in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz.

After official confirmation during Nintendo's E3 conference yesterday, Banana Blitz is a remake of 2005's Super Monkey Ball Deluxe, which essentially merged the first two Monkey Ball games and gave it brand-new content. After this official reveal, character art was spotted on the official website.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania Will Feature Sonic And Tails

While it appears to have since been taken down, that showed off Tails and Sonic guest starring in Banana Mania, as you can see above. While SEGA's not formally announced this just yet, the fact this artwork came from official sources guarantees it's legitimate.

It's not too surprising to see Sonic show up in Banana Mania, having previously appeared in 2019's Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD. This launches for all major platforms on October 8, and we'll keep you informed with any new developments.
