Super Monkey Ball Director Wants To Make An Open-World Adventure Entry


Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania is just a few days from release, ad with that, director Masao Shirosaki discussed future plans. Talking in detail about the renowned franchise, Shirosaki confirmed he'd like to look at a potential open-world adventure sequel.

Shirosaki stated in an interview with Everything Nintendo that he wants to play a game where he can 'go on an adventure,' potentially offering a sequel to 2012 PS Vita entry Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz. His statement reads as:

“I like going on adventures so I want to play a game where I can go on an adventure around the world with AiAi."

Calling himself someone who wants to consider what fans want, Shirosaki expressed interest in knowing the gaming community's thoughts, especially for the Super Monkey Ball games. He said:

“I actually want to know what everyone is expecting of Super Monkey Ball. As with past games, we are very eager to hear what fans think of the new game and what they’d like to see in the future.”

As for the latest entry, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania will release on October 5th for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms. Digital Deluxe buyers can access it four days early. You can check out its trailer below:
