Riders Republic: Should You Use Manual or Automatic Landing?

Riders Republic features a great mix of extreme sports disciplines to try out. As such, there are a lot of different control schemes to contend with. From rocket wingsuits to skis, each sport has its own specific inputs and controls. One thing shared between bikes and snow park sports is that they require you to choose a landing setting. You can either set it to Manual or Automatic. Here's what you need to know.

Automatic Landing

By default, your settings in Riders Republic will be set to Automatic Landing. This is essentially an assisted landing tool, that helps your tricks land every time. It doesn't work all of the time, but as long as you have enough air you should land every trick you try. This is great for players that wish to focus on races, and those who need some extra help in landing tricks. You can still rack up great combos, pull off tricks and win events with this option on.

Manual Landing

Manual Landing gives you complete control over your landings. It's a lot more challenging to get your rotation right before landing, but doing so will give you a Landing Bonus. This bonus increases with how well you line up your landing. Bad, Medium and Perfect Landings are all possible, each giving extra points. These can really add up over time, and can be the extra push you need to win Tricks-based events. Practice at the Tricks Academy to get your Manual Landings down. It will pay off in the long run, allowing you to get higher scores and earn extra stars.

Which to Choose?

You can play through the whole of Riders Republic in Automatic Landing mode if you want. You will miss out on extra points here or there, but most events won't even require you to pull off tricks. For Tricks-based events, it's recommended that you try out Manual Landing. Try to match the angle of your bike/skis/snowboard with the slope that you're landing on. You'll get feedback as you land that tells you how well you did. Use this to improve your landings, and to work out the sweet spot for each trick. If you're looking to play on higher difficulties and go after more stars, go with Manual.
