We're just a few weeks away from Capcom's latest Resident Evil game launching, and anticipation is building. After last week's showcase confirmed new details about Village, speculation was raised when the official Game Pass Twitter account retweeted Capcom's announcement.

Understandably, many are hoping to see Resi's newest entry come to Microsoft's subscription service, but if documents from the previous Capcom hacks are to be believed, Sony has effectively barred that from happening.

As outlined in the tweet below, Sony appears to have done an exclusivity deal, which prevents Capcom from releasing it on "competitive" subscription platforms for one year. That would bar it from not just Game Pass, but Xbox Live Gold and Project X Cloud too.

At this time, these documents haven't been officially verified, and Capcom may not have intended to release it on Game Pass anyway. However, considering Village's demo appeared on PS4 and PS5 weeks before rival platforms, it seems likely both publishers have struck some kind of deal.
