Will Resident Evil Village be on Game Pass day 1?

Microsoft and Capcom have been coy about whether Resident Evil Village will end up on Game Pass and, if it does, whether it will be a day one release on Xbox’s subscription service.

Microsoft caused some suspicion when the official Game Pass Twitter account re-tweeted Capcom’s announcement for the April 15 Village showcase — and then quickly deleted it.

Of course, it could simply have been a pragmatic decision so people wouldn’t leap to conclusions about RE Village on Game Pass.

Still, it’s usually the official Xbox regional accounts that tweet about Village, so there may be something to it after all.

Outside that, there’s only the smallest precedent warranting an assumption of Resident Evil Village on Game Pass.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is included on Game Pass for PC and console.

However, it’s the only game in the series currently on Game Pass.

Unlike Square Enix’s push to have all modern Final Fantasy games on Game Pass, there’s been no push to have all Resident Evil games on Game Pass.

Resident Evil Village does continue Ethan Winters’ story from RE 7, though, so it would make sense to have his tale’s conclusion on Game Pass as well.
