The Longest RE Engine Game Yet

An insider at Capcom has spoken on the company's newest title this week.

The release of Resident Evil 3 was met with criticism from many due to how short the campaign was.

How Long To Beat is a site that calculates how long a game takes to finish, RE 3 was estimated to take only six hours to complete.

Whereas Resident Evil 7: Biohazard takes 9.5 hours, Resident Evil 2 takes 8.5 hours, and Devil May Cry 5, 11 hours.

Capcom revealed Resident Evil 8 Village in June, planned to release in 2021.

Dusk Golem, the Capcom insider, has claimed that it “will be the longest RE Engine game to date”.

“Without saying too much the other stuff coming up should follow a similar trend”, he continued.

Meaning we could see the remake of Resident Evil 4 following suit in terms of gameplay length.

Capcom announced that they would be remaking the much-loved entry and according to How Long To Beat the original already takes 16 hours to complete.

Will Resident Evil Village be even longer?
