Most of these aforementioned horses sport the same saddles and cosmetics as the users. While some seem to remain stationary and simply wander around the scene, others are more frantic.

As seen showcased by this player at a timestamp of 2:03, a "ghost" horse rushes into the player, colliding with them and knocking the cowboy into the air:

Many players are reporting similar incidents, where these dead horses are causing severe injuries to users.

Contrarily, some ghost horses are actually helping cowboys. As shown by this bronco, who is casually dressed like Fat Albert, a ghost horse saved them from plummeting to death.

So what is the cause of these bugs? Many speculate that the glitches are rooted in Red Dead Online's in-game stables, where when users enter them their horses dash out of the stables. While others point to the ways in which players leave their horses when disconnecting from the game.

Even though Rockstar is yet to comment on the unusual defect, the famed developer has added a big summer update to GTA Online through Los Santos Tuners, ahead of the GTA V's next-gen release this fall.
