How to Get Gold Quickly in Red Dead Online 2021
There are several ways that you can get Gold and Gold Bars in Red Dead Online 2021, but not all of them are as effective as other methods, so we’ve listed them below, as well as how you can farm gold as quickly as possible if that’s your priority.
How to Earn Gold
There are three main ways that Gold can be earned in Red Dead Online, with the amount you earn varying depending on how much you put into them.
- Earning Gold through Daily Challenges and Multipliers
- Buying Gold Bars as Microtransactions
- Complete certain Missions for Gold Rewards
Earning Gold Through Daily Challenges and Multipliers
The way that most players can make Gold easily is through Daily Challenges and building Multipliers across days, weeks or even months for the best result. Daily Challenges are found in the Player Menu by pressing the left button on the D-Pad, and players get seven new ones to complete every day, each one with its own Gold reward. That means you don’t have to complete all of them to get paid, but the more you complete, the more Gold you’ll get. There’s also an extra reward for completing all the Daily Rewards.
It’s also worth mentioning that as you buy new Specialist Roles, each one will add an extra three Daily Challenges based on that role. So if you have the Bounty Hunter Role unlocked, you’ll get an extra three Challenges every day based on hunting players and all the elements involved. Check every day and complete as many of them as you can.
There’s also Multipliers involved. If you complete one Challenge per day at least, it builds a Multiplier that escalates every seven days you do this. By logging in daily you can raise the Multiplier to 2.5 times the standard in a month, vastly increasing the amount of Gold you earn.
Earning Gold Through Microtransactions
Gold can also be bought for real money online by simply pausing the game and going into the “Store” section of the menu. At time of writing, players can buy Gold Bars in these amounts for this values:
- One Time Special Offer: 25 Gold Bars - $5.00/£4.49 (can only be bought once)
- 25 Gold Bars - $10.00/£8.99
- 55 Gold Bars - $20.00/£18.49
- 150 Gold Bars - $50.00/£44.99
- 245 Gold Bars - $75.00/£69.99
- 350 Gold Bars - $100.00/£89.99
Earning Gold Through Missions and Specialist Roles
Aside from that, there are in-game means and ways that players can earn Gold. Here are some solid options for players to try out.
- Story Missions
- Stranger Missions
- Treasure Maps
- Bounty Hunter Specialist Missions

Can You Earn Gold From the Moonshiner, Trader and Collector Specialist Roles?
No, at time of writing there is no way to earn Gold from completing missions and deliveries in the other three Specialist Roles, making the Bounty Hunter an anomaly. That being said, they do unlock the additional Daily Challenges, as mentioned above, so you can earn Gold through them in a more indirect way.
How to Farm Gold Quickly
At time of writing in 2021, the best way to farm Gold Bars quickly in Red Dead Online is to complete as many of the Daily Challenges as possible every day in order to boost your Multiplier and get the extra reward for completing them all. Once that’s done, you should also start completing high-level bounties as a Bounty Hunter (though this is a role you have to pay money for) as these Bounties earn the player more Gold than any other means in the game, as well as money and experience alongside.
