PUBG Mobile 1.5 Update: Everything We Know

The PUBG Mobile 1.5 update 'Ignition' update arrives today, bringing with it a vision for the future of Erangel. Mission Ignition, a new technologically empowered EvoGround mode, is one of the core new additions to the game. Here's everything we know about the patch; from the release date, patch notes, features, and how to download it.

PUBG Mobile 1.5 Release Date

The PUBG Mobile 1.5 Ignition update will take us all to the moon on July 9. That's a little later than the July 7 release date the recent pre-register free skin page showed last month, but it wasn't too far off the mark.

PUBG Mobile 1.5 Patch Notes

If you have to know absolutely every little detail; from incremental gun buffs and nerfs to barely noticeable bug fixes, the PUBG Mobile 1.5 patch notes have all that and more.

How to Download PUBG Mobile 1.5 Ignition

In the past, odd-numbered patches haven't been too difficult to download. They're smaller in size and can typically be downloaded in the game itself. Hopefully the same will be true this time around.

If not, you'll need to load up the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and manually download the update. Just search for the PUBG Mobile again in the store and you should see a big Update button.

If you tend to download the PUBG Mobile APK directly, your favorite APK site will probably have it as well. You'll just need to wait for someone else to upload the PUBG Mobile 1.5 APK for you to download and install.

PUBG Mobile 1.5 isn't the biggest patch around, but it's set to introduce some cool new quality-of-life changes. We won't know the full feature list until closer to the release date, but here's what we do know:

TPP FoV Increase

If you're big on third-person perspective, the PUBG Mobile 1.5 FoV slider will be a big deal for you. When it goes live, you'll be able to up the TPP FoV a maximum of 80 all the way to 90, giving you a noticeably wider field of view. Here's an example shared by Reddit user czillkat from the beta.

New Item: Binoculars

Whether they're part of a new mode or not, the futuristic theme of PUBG Mobile 1.5 is set to introduce binoculars. With these, the game will render players even 600 meters away.

That's more than double the current render distance limit.

With this neat little gadget, you'll be able to spot someone at School all the way from the edges of Water Town. That's not scary at all!

New Weapon: MG3 LMG

LMGs are already insanely powerful, but the PUBG Mobile MG3 is set to be on a whole other level. We don't have specific stats just yet, but the fact that it's an air drop weapon means there's bound to be a reason why it'll be such a rare sight.

New Graphics Setting: Super Smooth

Though this is far from confirmed, Reddit user czillkat found what a machine translation deemed to be a "Super Smooth" graphics preset in PUBG Mobile 1.5.

While more advanced graphics settings have been said to be "coming soon" in game for a while now, a worse one may actually be the next to arrive.

If it turns out to be true, Super Smooth could allow more 90/120Hz-capable phones to unlock those framerates. It won't be nice to look at, but it'll feel as smooth as butter.

Throwable Loot

If you've ever been pinned in one building while a friend is locked in another, this handy new feature could just save your run.

When PUBG Mobile 1.5 goes live, there's reason to believe you'll be able to toss things like medkits, energy drinks, and even ammunition to nearby allies.

Just like grenades, you'll be able to bowl them through windows and over fences, ensuring they get to a buddy you'd die trying to reach.

Maybe that's why they're supposedly adding glass to windows?

Individual Weapon Sensitivity Settings

PUBG Mobile already features a deep list of sensitivity options, but it's set to get a lot longer.

Judging off early play reports, the 1.5 update will allow you to set your sensitivity settings for each individual gun in the game.
