Psychonauts 2 Finished Development With No Crunch Time Required


Psychonauts 2 is an upcoming platform video game developed by Double Fine Studios, which recently had its release date announced during E3 2021.

Senior Producer at Double Fine studios, Kevin Johnson said on Twitter that the team did not have any crunch time and the game was created in line with its schedule.

While it's good to see a video game announce a smooth development with no crunch time needed, the game was delayed multiple times, which clearly the team needed to make sure the final product is as polished as it can be.

Psychonauts 2 Finished Development With No Crunch Time Required

Psychonauts 2 received its new release date at this year's E3 event during the successful Microsoft Presentation and will release on August 25th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation 4, and through backwards compatibility on PlayStation 5.

The game will also be making its way to Xbox Game Pass on day one.

There has been no word on the game coming to Nintendo Switch.

This news comes shortly after a game designer on Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart came out and said he was able to avoid crunch time while working on the game.

Crunch time is a serious issue in the video game industry, but it's good to see reports about developers minimizing the chances of a crunch by setting a fair release schedule for the whole team and players who are looking forward to it.
