MyPlayStation No Longer Supports Parties, Friends, Trophies, Profile Information, and Game Library

Sony has cancelled all support for the use of the MyPlayStation, which allowed players to communicate, search and view their games in an attempt to push players to use the mobile application or the consoles themselves.

"As of 28th June 2021, the web feature MyPlayStation will no longer be supported. You can continue to access your Game Library, Parties, Friends, Trophies, Profile information on your PS4 and PS5 consoles, or via mobile on PS App. The Profile and Game Library information will also be available via web on the profile menu dropdown". The PlayStation Notice Says.

Limited profile information will still be available on the PlayStation website, however, players will need to download the mobile application if they want to externally use these features.

Sony has also begun shutting down messaging on PS Vita devices, directing people to download the mobile application again, or simply use messaging on a PS4 or PS5 console.

Termination began on the 28th of June, although it may differ depending on your region.

This comes at a time where many companies are moving away from online forums and websites, where during May Bethesda announced the closure of their forums and shift to using discord as a communication tool instead.

It may be frustrating for some players, that now need to download a new application to access these features, but everything is there on the mobile application, and having it more accessible on the go is a benefit.
