Pokemon GO: May Research Breakthrough And Spotlight Hours Events - Dates, Schedule, Rewards And More

Pokemon GO's May Research Breakthrough event has been revealed, along with a new Spotlight Hours events.

Alongside the Throwback Challenge 2020 and GO Battle League Season 2, we're being blessed with even more content.

Team GO Rocket has gone quiet and it appears new Team GO Rocket Special Research content will not arrive from May until September.

Players will also get the chance to encounter Shinx with more candies.

Here's everything you need to know about the May Research Breakthrough event and Spotlight Hours.

May Research Breakthrough Schedule

From Friday, May 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, June 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7), the Flash Pokémon, Shinx, will be available as a Research Breakthrough encounter, and it’ll come with bonus Shinx Candies!

Spotlight Hours Schedule

Every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. local time both a Pokémon and a special bonus will be available in the Spotlight Hours!

For each Pokémon Spotlight Hour, you can expect a different Pokémon and bonus:

• Tuesday, May 5, 2020: Shellder will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Stardust for catching Pokémon.
• Tuesday, May 12, 2020: Sunkern will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the XP for catching Pokémon.
• Tuesday, May 19, 2020: Poochyena will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Candy for catching Pokémon.
• Tuesday, May 26, 2020: Bronzor will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Candy for transferring Pokémon.
