Pokemon Go adding guaranteed encounters and free gift boxes in the coming months

Pokemon Go is still going strong, and big changes are coming to the mobile RPG.

As reported on the Pokemon Go blog, Niantic is testing out daily guaranteed Pokemon encounters and free daily gifts from the in-game shop.

Pokemon Go Guaranteed Encounters

According to the blog, players will get a new type of incense that doesn't appear in your item bag. Instead, it'll attract a Pokemon once a day who will only appear for the player.

This will be a godsend for players in remote locations that don't get to catch a great deal of Pokemon and should help them rack up daily XP.

Pokemon Go Daily Free Boxes

Perhaps more interesting for most players is the possibility of players being able to grab a "Daily Free Box" from the in-game store, each box containing different items.

It's being tested with a "small number of Trainers", and will roll out in the coming months to more players.
