How to get Coins in Pokemon Go

To get coins in Pokemon Go, there are one of two ways to choose between. You can buy them for as little as 99p for 100 Coins, all the way up to a huge 14,500 for almost £100.

The cheaper way to earn them is through Gym Battles, or specifically having your Pokemon hold gyms. A Pokemon earns a coin every ten minutes that they hold a gym, and you can hold multiple gyms at a time.

The maximum coins you can earn from this method (across all Pokemon) is 50 coins per day, but if you get into a rhythm or find a rarely challenged gym there's nothing to stop you racking up coins each day.

What are Coins in Pokemon Go?

Coins are Pokemon Go's premium currency and can be spent on plenty of items in the game. You can pick up Premium Raid Passes, Egg Incubators, Lures, Poke Balls, Lucky Eggs, Potions, Incense and more using Coins, and you'll find it all in the in-game store.
