Pokemon Legends: Arceus Trailer Teases New Hisuian Starter Forms


Pokemon Legends: Arceus launches January 28, and The Pokemon Company released the game’s final trailer, complete with teases for new Hisuian starter evolutions. While the second form of your starter Pokemon looks the same as their original forms, the final evolutions are a mystery - unless you've been following the leaks, of course.

The rest of this final trailer for Pokemon Legends: Arceus goes over a number of things that have already been confirmed, including Noble Pokemon and the clans you meet, but details surrounding the starters have been scant until now. For those unfamiliar, the three starters in Pokemon Legends: Arceus are Cyndaquil (Fire), Oshawott (Water), and Rowlet (Grass), though we don't officially know what their new typings will be.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus Trailer Teases New Hisuian Starter Forms

We’ve seen a couple of unique Hisuian Pokemon from previous Arceus trailers, including Growlithe, Voltorb, Kleavor - which is technically a brand-new Pokemon - and more. It’s been a trend since Pokemon Sun and Moon introduced Alolan forms in the 3DS, but this is the first time we’ve seen familiar starters get a new form in these new games.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is coming to the Nintendo Switch on January 28. Fans that need more Pokemon in their life can also pick up Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl for the Switch to get a taste of modern Sinnoh life.
