Whether you're after the new Pokemon Sylveon or just don't have the items needed to get a Glaceon, there's a secret Eevee name trick in Pokemon GO that can get you all of Eevee's evolutions without the complicated requirements. Here's how it works.
All Eevee Nicknames in Pokemon GO
Evolving Eevee can be a tiresome process. It's completely random whether you'll end up with Vaporeon, Flareon, or Jolteon when simply using Eevee Candy. You have more control over the other evolutions, but they still need some combination of candy, items, timing, and raw exercise to perform.
But there is an easier way to get your first of any Eevee evolution.
This is all done by the nickname you give Eevee before hitting the evolve button. With the right nickname, you can dictate which evolution you end up with. Each nickname trick can only be used once per account, though. After that, you'll have to evolve your Eevee the old-fashioned way.
Below is the Eevee code for each evolution:
- Vaporeon - Rainer
- Flareon - Pyro
- Jolteon - Sparky
- Umbreon - Tamao
- Espeon - Sakura
- Glaceon - Rea
- Leafeon - Linnea
- Sylveon - Kira
It's as simple as that! After nicknaming your Eevee and hitting the evolve button, it'll turn into whichever evolution you specified. Why? Because the Pokemon anime said so. There's nothing better than a freebie.
One word of warning, though: If you're close to level 41, we suggest holding off on using the Eevee naming trick to get Sylveon. As of June 9, 2021, you need to evolve Eevee into Sylveon to reach level 42. Doing that without the trick is a much more time-consuming process.
