Pokemon GO: Luminous Legends Y Research And Rewards

Yveltal arrives in Pokemon GO with the Luminous Legends Y event, and that means new timed research to go along. Xerneas has been pushed out and it's time for Dark-type Pokemon to take over for a while.

Luminous Legends X and the timed research was all about Fairy-type Pokemon. on the opposite end of the spectrum, Luminous Legends Y pits players against Team GO Rocket grunts and tasks them with catching Dark or Shadow Pokemon. There are plenty of steps, but the rewards are worth the effort.

There are a total of 7 steps for the Luminous Legends Y research tasks. Grunts and shadow Pokemon block the way to the end, but the Deino that players can get is alone worth the effort in Luminous Legends Y.

Stage 1 Research Tasks

• Defeat 5 Team GO Rocket Grunts - 15 Poke Balls
• Catch 5 Shadow Pokemon - Meowth
• Catch 5 Dark-type Pokemon - Alolan Rattata

Rewards - 3,000 XP, Stunky

Stage 2 Research Tasks

• Purify 3 Shadow Pokemon - 5 Hyper Potions
• Purify 5 Shadow Pokemon - 3 Revives
• Catch 7 Shadow Pokemon - 1 Mysterious Component

Rewards - 750 XP, Alolan Rattata

Stage 3 Research Tasks

• Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Arlo - 2,000 XP
• Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Cliff - 2,000 XP
• Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Sierra - 2,000 XP

Rewards - 2,000 XP, Murkrow

Stage 4 Research Tasks

• Purify 8 Shadow Pokemon - Mossy Lure Module
• Evolve 8 Pokemon - Eevee

• Defeat 8 Team GO Rocket Grunts - 7 Pinap Berries

Stage 6 Research Tasks

• Complete 7 Field Research tasks - 10 Great Balls
• Win 1 raid - Houndoom
• Catch 5 different species of Dark-type Pokemon - Alolan Grimer

Rewards - 4,000 XP, Absol

Stage 7 Research Tasks

• Purify 10 Shadow Pokemon - Poffin
• Defeat a Team GO Rocket Leader 3 times - Galarian Zigzagoon
• Catch 12 Shadow Pokemon - Larvitar

Rewards - 5,000 Stardust, Deino

Luminous Legends Y is slated to have two separate parts, and the first part will revolve far more around Dark-types. Part 2 will usher in Sylveon and further Fairy-types along with other event-themed Pokemon. Players will have until the end of May in Pokemon GO.
