A new blog post was posted by the folks over at Pokemon Go.

This post details all of the new features that are going to be taking place within the Pokemon GO X Pokemon HOME special event.

One of these features is a brand new mystery box players will have access to.

They note that there is a chance to encounter a shiny Meltan during this mystery box as well! 

In celebration of Pokémon GO’s integration with Pokémon HOME, a special event will be taking place soon! Activate a Mystery Box during the event, and you might encounter a Shiny Meltan.

So, there is a chance that you will encounter this shiny Pokemon during this mystery box.

As of now, this appears to be the best way to obtain this shiny Pokemon.

The new event is going to be starting on November 17th at 8:00 am local time, and will conclude on November 23 at 10:00 pm local time.

Along with the chance to encounter the shiny Meltan, there are plenty of other features coming!

One of these features is the encounter rater for the following Pokemon is going to be rising: 

The following Pokémon will be appearing more often in the wild: Alolan Sandshrew, Zubat, Alolan Diglett, Slowpoke, Magnemite, Ditto, Porygon, Hoothoot, Remoraid, Whismur, Lileep, Anorith, Cottonee, and Foongus.
