Pokemon GO Fest 2021: Everything Players Need To Know

Pokemon GO Fest 2021 is almost around the corner, and this year looks to be a promising one that Pokemon GO players won't want to miss out on.

What separates Pokemon GO Fest 2021 from other years is the anniversary aspect of 2021. Not only is it the 25th anniversary of Pokemon as a franchise, but it's also the 5th anniversary for Pokemon GO, which released in 2016. That means plenty of surprises and celebrations.

The first surprise is the much lower price of the Pokemon GO Fest ticket. Typically, the ticket would cost $15, which is a hefty entry price for any game event. This year, however, the cost will only be $5 because of the anniversary celebrations in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO Fest 2021 details and dates

Players can expect Pokemon GO Fest 2021 to run for two days this year. Those days will be July 17 and July 18 respectively. Both days will begin at 10 am local time and end at 6 pm local time.

For Day 1, the hourly habitats are making a return to Pokemon GO. The event hours will rotate between Jungle, Desert Mountain, Ocean Beach, and Cave habitats. Those habitats will spawn Pokemon correlated to the region for the given hour until a new rotation begins.

Players will also work together on Day 1 to complete hourly challenges as a community collaboration. As a side bonus, Pokemon that are related to music will be appearing in the wild in order to stay with the theme.

On Day 2, the main attraction will be catching any Pokemon that were missed on Saturday and completing raids. Some of the raid Pokemon appear to be Deino and Cranidos, but those are only confirmed for Saturday. The only confirmation for Sunday is an extra 10,000 XP bonus on raids, and the ability to spin gyms for up to 10 raid passes.

Regardless of the day, Pokemon GO Fest 2021 will feature some new shiny Pokemon that will be easier to catch on Day 1. Those include Whismur, Chimeco, Audino, Tympole, Throh, Sawk, and Unown F.
