Pokemon GO: Everything to Know About Sustainability Week

Sustainability Week has been announced in Pokemon GO as a new event done in partnership with the Niantic Sustainability Campaign. Players can earn bonuses for participating in the Sustainability Week, and it's right around the corner.

Starting on April 20, and running to April 25, Sustainability Week will go live in Pokemon GO. The idea is for players to earn bonuses by completing sustainability-related objectives or goals. On top of the bonuses and goals, there will be a change in Pokemon that appear in the wild.

Binacle will make its debut in Pokemon GO during Sustainability Week, which seems to be the trend as Generation 6 Pokemon continue to appear in events. Trubbish will also be appearing more, but this time players can encounter a shiny version of the Pokemon. A few other Pokemon that will appear include Ferroseed, Drilbur, and Grimer.

The event Pokemon can be found in eggs, within the wild, or in raids. Players can expect the usual rotations that happen in a Pokemon GO event.

Unlock rewards and bonuses during the Pokemon GO Sustainability Week

Achieving the bonuses during Sustainability Week in Pokemon GO is one of the main goals. The system for unlocks is Niantic wide and encourages players from all Niantic games to work together and achieve the goals.

There are three tiers that Niantic players can reach during the Sustainability Week, and each tier will give players a bonus on April 25. From 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on April 25, the bonuses will appear.

Sustainability Week tiers in Pokemon GO

  • Tier 1 (2,500 activations) - Five-star raids will appear more often.
  • Tier 2 (5,000 activations) - A bundle in the shop with three remote raid passes will appear for free.
  • Tier 3 (10,000 activations) - A 2x catch XP bonus will go live in the game.

All of the bonuses will stack as long as each tier is met. So, players should make sure to play during Sustainability Week if they want the most from the event.
