In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, a Scizor is a pretty powerful Pokémon to have as a part of your party. Although, they are exclusive to Brilliant Diamond, so some trading will be required to have them as a part of your collection in Shining Pearl.

How To Get Scyther

Scyther's entry in the National Pokédex in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Scyther can be found in multiple locations across the Sinnoh Region of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond. They can be found in one area of Sinnoh, or multiple within the Grand Underground. Namely, in the following areas:

  • Route 229 in Tall Grass or Caves
  • Grand Underground: Big Bluff Cavern
  • Grand Underground: Sunlit Cavern
  • Grand Underground: Still-Water Cavern
  • Grand Underground: Grassland Cave
  • Grand Underground: Riverbank Cave

How To Evolve Scyther Into Scizor

In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Scyther needs both an item and trading in order to evolve. You will need to have Scyther hold the Metal Coat item, which can be found in the Grand Underground, and then trade it online or locally with another player.

It'll evolve into Scizor upon trading, and then that player will have to trade it back after evolving for you to have your very own Scizor!
