Persona Series Hits 15 Million Sales Worldwide

Update [2:15 EST]: Since this piece was first published, Atlus U.S.A. announced Persona 4 Golden has now sold 1 million copies on Steam.

Atlus has just confirmed that the Persona series has reached 15 million sales worldwide. While we've seen a big push for its parent series Shin Megami Tensei in recent months with Nocturne's HD Remaster and SMT V's upcoming launch, Persona has brought in solid numbers.

Publishing their financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2021, Atlus included updated sales for Persona, which has now hit 15 million across its lifetime. At the top is Persona 5 Royal, reaching 1.8 million copies in total and has shifted 400k units since July 2020.

Persona Series Hits 15 Million Sales Worldwide

Elsewhere, recent sequel/spin-off entry Persona 5 Strikers came in at 1.5 million, up by 200k from April 2021's figures. In third place, we've got Persona 4 Golden's PC port at 900k, adding to the 1.5 million copies sold on the PlayStation Vita for 2.4 million.

Notably, Atlus confirmed sales have significantly exceeded their expectations. While Asian markets are a high earner, they specifically noted a high level of overseas sales. It's certainly promising for future entries and with Sega's recent push for simultaneous worldwide releases, that's likely to grow even further.
