Atlus has been planning a giveaway on social media. To celebrate Shin Megami Tensei V's upcoming launch with the Atlus-O-Weenie 2021 cosplay contest, where winners will be rewarded with game copies and goodies. A copy of Persona 5 Royal was part of this, which Atlus specified could be claimed on PS4, Switch and PC.

There's just one problem though, Royal's not been officially announced for Switch or PC. Naturally, that excited fans that potential ports were coming. Realising their error though, Atlus were quick to correct this typo and shot down hopes for getting the game on different platforms.

Atlus Accidentally “Confirmed” Persona 5 Royal Switch and PC Releases, but It’s Not Happening

Atlus West's official Twitter account confirmed this prize was just a typo, and the reward was actually the recent Persona 5 Strikers spinoff, not Persona 5 Royal. Accordingly, the typo has since been fixed, leading to disappointment from fans.

Royal's Exclusivity

Presently, Persona 5 Royal is a PlayStation 4 exclusive and there's no other means of playing this game. Meanwhile, the game's spinoff/sequel, Persona 5 Strikers, is currently available on PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Understandably, many fans would love to see Persona 5 Royal on other platforms too, which offers a JRPG with turn-based battles and stylish visuals. With other Atlus games like Persona 4 Golden, Catherine, and Persona 5 Strikers available on different platforms, many fans are hoping for the same opportunity with Royal.
