How to Get Overwatch 2 Beta Twitch Drops

April 28, 2022: The Overwatch 2 beta Twitch drops event has ended. There have been reports of drops not granting beta access as expected (which we can corroborate), and while Blizzard reps have been seeing to things on the forums, we can personally confirm that the issue is not resolved as they suggest.

If you’re after Overwatch 2 beta Twitch drops, then you’re in the right place. Why Didn't My Overwatch 2 Twitch Drop Work?

If you managed to watch four hours of Overwatch 2 content on Twitch in the eight-hour period on April 27, you should have gained automatic entry into the Overwatch 2 beta on PC - but many didn't (including ourselves).

Blizzard reps on the forums downplayed the issue, saying that most didn't have a Blizzard account linked to their Twitch account at the time of the promotion, and that only a few who did were affected by the issue.

There's every chance the system is still working to grant licenses, but no update has been posted in over six hours now to say that the issue has been resolved. Access could still arrive for those who hit the four-hour threshold, but we can't confirm nor deny that at this time.

Yes, getting access to the Overwatch 2 beta involves you simply watching some livestreams. Note that you'll need an active Twitch account. You'll need to have linked your Blizzard account to said Twitch account as well - access is granted that way rather than through a traditional Overwatch 2 beta key. Then, tune into any of the affiliated Overwatch streamers, and wait for the time to rack up.

Of course, you can simply turn the stream on and leave it running in the background.

Twitch won't force you to keep the tab at the forefront of your desktop, so don't go thinking you need to actively pin your eyeballs to four hours of hardcore Overwatch 2 content just to keep an eye out for a code you might need to redeem faster than 300 other code-hungry fans. Just watch, listen, or walk away. So long as you count as a viewer to one of the eligible Overwatch 2 streamers, you'll get Overwatch 2 beta access in four hours.
