Outriders 1.08 Update - Everything We Know So Far

MAY 25 UPDATE - Update 1.08 has arrived for Outriders. People Can Fly has published their patch notes with the full list of changes and fixes with this patch. You can find the full details on the May 25 Update further down.

Original Story - Outriders developer People Can Fly might have has a slightly rocky first month since the game launched on April 1.

Despite the issues, the devs have done a great job of rolling out regular updates and hotfixes to get the game up to speed.

Typically we've seen at least one update released every week, so it stands to reason we'll see yet more updates for the game in May 2021.

Last week People Can Fly released patch 1.07 bringing a whole host of fixes and improvements, but as with any live service game there's always more bug fixes to be made.

The next patch for the game will be Outriders Update 1.08. Here's everything we know about the next update for the game.

Outriders 1.08 Update Confirmed

In a new update on the game's subreddit, the devs confirmed that the next patch will be working on restoring more inventory items, and plenty more.

The last update for the game, patch 1.07, made many fixes to the game, but the developers were quick to point out in their Reddit thread that the majority of issues were for "fixes & resolutions for many smaller and minor bugs that were reported or discovered during the demo and launch period of Outriders".

So there are undoubtedly plenty more issues to be fixed.

One of the more pressing fixes needed, however, is the ongoing problems with players inventories which were wiped.

As noted by the developer notes from the 1.07 update, the patch was released before the team could finish their work.

So it's possible we might see the promised item restoration in the 1.08 update for the game.

Writing on the Reddit thread at the time, the devs told fans: "While we had hoped to run the restoration process before releasing the patch, this unfortunately is not possible, so we have made the decision to release the patch today so that players can benefit from its fixes while we continue to iterate and work on the restoration process," Square Enix and People Can Fly said.

As highlighted by Eurogamer, there's still no word on the ongoing issues with griefers kicking out co-op players from Expeditions before they can nab their hard-earned loot.

So whilst we'd like to see this fixed in the forthcoming 1.08 update for the game, it's unlikely to arrive until People Can Fly (at the very least) acknowledge the issue

Outriders 1.08 Confirmed Patch Notes

  • Fixed a bug that was causing armour values to not be calculated properly under certain circumstances, leading players to take unintended increased damage.
  • Changed the damage behaviour of Brood Mother enemies to prevent them from one-hit killing players in under certain circumstances.
  • Addressed an issue that could cause players to be unable to sign-in under certain circumstances.
  • Added telemetry to better track and diagnose any outstanding sign-in issues.
  • Fixes for crashes.
  • Other minor bug fixes.
“Important note: There is a known outstanding issue where the “Damage Blocked” stat on an Expeditions results screen can occasionally appear inconsistently or abnormally low. This appears to be a purely cosmetic issue with the results summary screen, NOT an issue with damage mitigation overall or during gameplay.

I’m also planning to kick off an updated known/investigated issues thread later this week, so please do keep an eye out for that.

In the meantime, please do use this thread to report any outstanding issues that you (continue to) encounter in the game after installing today’s patch (Tuesday, May 25). I will make sure to include consistent issues affecting multiple players in my follow-up news update this week.

In particular, I would be keen to hear whether you (continue to) encounter any mods, skills or gear items consistently not working as intended. If you are able to provide details and reproduction steps for these things not working properly, it would greatly help us investigate them.”

Stay tuned for more details.
