Outriders developer People Can Fly have expressed their interest in venturing to smaller AA games for new genres. As per GI.biz, the Polish team mentioned that they plan to release one AA game annually beginning 2024.
While they'd continue existing and upcoming bigger projects, these new projects would have "shorter development time, lower budget, and smaller scope.” However, they assured everyone that they'd still work on their existing and upcoming bigger projects.
Outriders Developer May Stick To Smaller Games In The Future
Mentioning their interest in acquiring or partnering with new studios to execute their initial plan, People Can Fly are aiming to ship at least one AA title every year by 2024. They've already acquired Awakened creator and Chicago-based studio Phosphor this April, and aren't ruling out further moves later on.
Amongst their larger projects, that includes unrevealed games for Take-Two Interactive and Square Enix. They've also teased potential expansions for Outriders, despite less than encouraging sales results so far.
