After looking destined to dodge the wider world outside of Japan, Cygames' manic mobile pinball RPG gacha mashup has finally been given the green light to bounce all over the world. After missing its expected (but never confirmed) launch day, a World Flipper release date has been officially set for September 8, 2021.

Released in 2019, Cygames' hit anime RPG pinball hybrid was actually confirmed to get a worldwide release late last year, but it's taken almost 12 months to secure a slightly less vague release date. As confirmed by worldwide published Kakao Games today, pre-registrations and now live on both iOS and Android.

What is World Flipper?

For anyone who doesn't keep up with the latest and most popular mobile gacha titles from the East, World Flipper is a colourful, charismatic, and chaotic mix of RPG and pinball mechanics. It's similar to Monster Strike, which is another peculiar mix of genres that took Japan by storm in 2015 but struggled to make a name for itself in the West.

By mixing tiny sprites and pixel graphics with a rich story filled to the brim with soft, anime visuals, World Flipper manages to turn a game that has generally retired to the dusty basements of nostalgic collectors into an amalgamation of new and old mechanics.

By launching balls around varied tables and timing the execution of your team's unique skills, you blast your way through different fantasy worlds, experiencing the stories of each character and using your flippers to beat up powerful bosses you find along the road.

World Flipper Pre-registrations Rewards

World Flipper pre-registrations are now live on iOS and Android. With over 100,000 pre-registrations already, Arisa from Cygames' classic CCG Shadowverse (which landed a high spot on our list of the best mobile card games) will be given out for free on launch.

On top of that, everyone will get a ticket that guarantees a 4–5 Star character at release. As it climbs towards its final 1,000,000 pre-registrations goal, Lodestar Beads used to summon more characters will be unlocked as launch celebration rewards.
