Monster Hunter Stories and Tetris Beat Headline Apple Arcade's New Games

Apple Arcade’s roster of quality games is set to expand once again with the upcoming arrival of Monster Hunter Stories and an original Tetris title by the name of Tetris Beat, which will see the long-running series “blocking to a new beat” with the introduction of rhythm mechanics.

This one comes to us from developer N3TWORK and promises to feature a “diverse and eclectic” collection of musicians, such as Octo Octa, Alison Wonderland, GARZA, and more. Interestingly, the game will receive new songs each month, which could work pretty well with Apple Arcade’s subscription-based model.

The idea is that you’ll tactically rotate and drop Tetriminos while building up your combo chain by closely following the beat of the tune. There is of course a more traditional mode available, too, known as Marathon mode.

Monster Hunter Stories is another neat addition to the Apple Arcade lineup. You might remember that it first launched globally for the Nintendo 3DS way back in 2017, then was promptly ported to mobile devices the year after. At its core, it’s a turn-based JRPG that sees you forming bonds with your new monster pals, known rather affectionately as ‘Monsties’. Its incoming arrival has been timed very well indeed, given the recent launch of Monster Hunter Stories 2 on Nintendo Switch and PC.

If that wasn’t enough, Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector, Jetpack Joyride, and an update for Skate City are also scheduled to hit Apple Arcade this Friday, July 23. The game subscription service is available for $4.99/£4.99 a month.
