Zelda meets Studio Ghibli in the upcoming adventure RPG Baldo, which we now know is heading to Apple Arcade alongside PC and consoles. Hailing from Italian developer Naps Team, this one sees you venturing through a fantastical land filled with puzzles to solve and enemies to fell.

Its strong art style has earned it a fair amount of attention recently, but beyond that, it’s the promise of a sprawling Zelda-style adventure on mobile that makes this one of Apple Arcade’s heaviest hitters. Thankfully, we don’t have too much longer to wait to see if it lives up to the standard of its inspirations, as the Baldo release date is set for August 27.

Before then, however, you can also expect to see the “bombastic” Detonation Racing hit Apple Arcade this Friday. It sounds a little bit like Split Second, if anyone remembers that one, where explosive set-piece events will trigger during the race, often wiping out half the competition in the process. You can, for example, drop a nuclear submarine onto the track if you so feel like it.

Asphalt 8: Airborne is also making the move to Apple Arcade. This beloved casual racing game is probably the best entry in the long-running series, and being able to play the whole thing without IAPs could make it better still.

In terms of recent updates, it's platformer SP!NG and puzzler Mini Motorways that have received some TLC. The former gets 12 new characters, 18 extra levels, and even some fresh achievements, while the latter boasts two new maps and a tool that allows you to create and share GIFs in-game.
