Honkai Star Rail Simulated Universe World 3 guide - Best team comps and boss strategy

A character pointing his finger in Honkai Star Rail.

Honkai Star Rail Simulated Universe World 3 is a brick wall for many players, as they are unable to get past the stage. While many players recommend using the Path of Preservation to bypass some of the mechanics, we have a much more comfortable strategy for you.

By taking advantage of some free-to-play units and powerful Blessings, it is possible to beat World 3 even if you are under-levelled. You should have your characters at level 40 or above for a comfortable clear.

Best characters in Honkai Star Rail Simulated Universe World 3

There are three elements that you need to have for a comfortable clear in World 3: Physical, Lightning, and Imaginary.

Sushang

Sushang is the best 4-star Physical DPS in the game right now, and is a contender to be your main DPS for Floor 3. If you do not have her, it is not necessary to bring Physical damage, but having her does give you more shield-break options.

Clara

If you have a well-built Clara, she can solo the entire stage, no support needed! She is extremely powerful in World 3 and holds up well even in World 6 should you want to invest in her for the endgame.

Bailu

You need some Lightning damage, and Bailu has you covered with her auto-attacks, which can easily break shields. Her healing output is also the highest in the game and you can survive Gepard’s attacks very comfortably.

Welt

Welt is the only Imaginary damage source in the game right now, and he specialises in applying Slow on enemies. Welt is great at breaking shields but not a lot of players will have him, and bringing Imaginary damage is not mandatory for World 3 as enemies have multiple weaknesses, so you have options to choose from.

Dan Heng

You can use Dan Heng as your main DPS if you do not have any premium Hunt characters. He can focus on dealing with damage while your supports handle shield-breaking.

Serval

Serval is one of the best AOE DPS characters in the game for World 3, thanks to her Shock application. She can deal a lot of DoT damage and break shields in two Skill uses most of the time.

Gepard

You can never go wrong with Gepard because of how much defensive utility he offers. He can keep you protected even in the hardest Elite and Boss battles in World 3. It is also satisfying to have your own Gepard block all of the damage that the boss version of the character dishes out at you in the final phase.

Best teams in Honkai Star Rail Simulated Universe World 3

Here are our recommended teams for World 3 of the Simulated Universe.

Best F2P team - Trailblazer, Serval, Natasha, March 7th

This team consists of only free characters you can get by progressing the campaign. You can choose between the Physical or Fire Trailblazer depending on your play style preferences. We recommend bringing the Physical version in this one, because of how weak enemies are to Physical damage in World 3.

Serval and Natasha can cover most enemy weaknesses and help you break shields. March 7th is a flex pick, and she is used as a defensive support in this team. You may swap her out with Bailu or Gepard if you have them.

Best budget team - Dan Heng, Serval, Welt, Natasha

Welt counters Gepard’s mechanics well, and he can also render a lot of enemies useless. World 3 is one of the few stages where there is an abundance of enemies weak to Imaginary damage, and you should take advantage of it if you can.

Dan Heng is our main DPS in this team, while Serval and Natasha can break shields while also performing their respective roles. The goal of this team is to make your run as comfortable as possible instead of trying to speed things up.

Best high-end team - Clara, Tingyun, Welt, Bailu

This is the best possible combination of characters that you can bring to World 3. Clara is a power Destruction character that can keep herself alive and tank damage for other characters. If you have high investment levels on your Clara, you should not even need any of the premium supports, as she can solo World 3 with the right gear.

Tingyun and Welt boost damage and break shields for the team, and they are excellent supports for Clara. Bailu is the best healer for World 3, as she can break shields that have Lightning Weakness.

Best path in Honkai Star Rail Simulated Universe World 3

Destruction is the go-to Path if you have Clara as your main DPS. The Path gives you a massive amount of survivability and lets you tank damage without any risk of death. Even though Clara’s offensive output is not high, a high HP pool is all she needs to take advantage of the path.

If you want to play it safe and have solid shielders to help you survive, Preservation is your best friend. The Blessings of Preservation can give you tons of shields, damage reduction, DEF, and the Path Resonance gives you a burst of Physical damage.

That is all you need to know about beating Honkai Star Rail’s Simulated Universe World 3.
